Fiddleheads is elated to introduce the North American audience to a millennial maker from whom to expect accolades aplenty: Pawel Migiel
Born in Zakopane, Poland in 1982, Mr. Migiel fostered an adoration of the violin and its pristine construction since childhood. Following school he was chosen to study as an apprentice of Wojciech Topa, Poland’s finest luthier, with whom he still collaborates and emulates in the celebrated classic Italian style. We fondly call his violins "Topa lite" as they are a fantastic choice for players who seek a Topa-like violin for a fraction of the price.
Though not quite yet old enough to be considered a veteran maker, early millennial Mr. Migiel is rapidly gaining attention and deep respect as his violins are enjoyed by amateur and professional musicians globally. It's safe to say his violins are well beyond apprentice-level and he has achieved master craftsman status.
Fun Fact: Migiel, pronounced mee-gale, is a Polish surname (and sometimes given name) that means ambitious, influencer, focused, freedom loving, energetic, and charismatic. His name really says it all!
