Do you sell the higher model Zhu workshop 912, 914, 916, 918, 920 or 925 instruments?

It is by choice that Fiddleheads doesn't carry the bench models (912, 916, 925, etc) made by individual apprentice makers in the Zhu workshop. The primary factors in this decision were Value (including resale), Tone, and Uniqueness.

Rhiannon has expertly tested and compared the instruments and sees far more value, playability, unique artistry and overall customer enjoyment for the price from our Master European violins.

Not only are our Master European violins made by a single master maker with credentials and awards behind them, but the instrument will hold more value than one made by an unknown apprentice maker in a workshop.

Each instrument from our European makers is made as a unique masterpiece. And they are much better-known makers, plus no fakes clogging up the market. Every customer has seen the difference in tone and quality and this is why Rhiannon has chosen to not stock the 925 or any violins higher than the VN-909, where she determines the best value stops.

There is also quite a lot of fraud online with sources claiming to sell authentic higher model Zhu workshop violins for "too good to to true prices" or completeing lacking model numbers, names, label, or certificate. We known of several unscrupulous sites that have swindled many victims into buying fakes for what the buyers thought were great prices.

All that said, you are safe with Fiddleheads and we can special order in any authentic upper Zhu workshop violins, violas or celli for our customers gladly. We know precisely which models we are buying and can guarantee they are authentic because we purchase directly from the workshop following a long-standing personal relationship dating back to the early 2000's.
