Imperial ViolinSize: 4/4Condition: Used, excellent condition"Imperial" violins were produced by Louis Lowendall in Berlin and, later, in the US. His instruments were sold by Sears Roebuck and were produced between 1880 and the early 1900s.Engraving on back of scroll reads, "Imperial Violin," and label inside is typical Stradivarius label used in most Strad copies of this vintage. The corners at the ribs are unusually pointed (unlike the usual squared corners) and the perfling is very near the edges: the resulting effect is beautiful and gives the instrument a delicate and ornate feel. Dark amber finish and subtlely flamed and beautiful 1-piece back. Fully shop-serviced with new Dominant strings, all new fittings (featuring beautiful tailpiece with brass treble clef inlay), new Aubert 3-star bridge and soundpost and other improvements. Smooth and even tone, very good projection and easy to play.
