Weekly Scheduling
You may be looking for the School Year Calendar for holidays and other important dates.
Lessons are held Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 1pm to 5pm. Contact Rhiannon to inquire on lesson availability.
Weekly Private Lessons Schedule
Rhiannon gives each student a weekly lessons schedule. Included are all student's lesson days, times and contact phone numbers.
In the event that a student needs to switch lesson times once or permanently they are required to contact the other student.
For example, you may need to change lesson days due to a conflicting sport or you may be sick and wish to switch with another student for the week.
Keep this schedule in a safe place so you can refer to it when needed.
Due to privacy reasons this schedule is not available online. Please contact Rhiannon if you would like another copy.
Student Recitals & Performances
Fiddleheads Violin School students have many opportunities to perform throughout the year. Rhiannon encourages her students to perform in public at many local events as this "real" musician experience is more valuable than most typical school recitals.

1. Music Festival:
Rhiannon also signs keen students up each January for entrance in the Shuswap Music Festival later in April. This is a classical music venue which is based on the Royal Conservatory of Music Toronto method (books available here), but there is a category for fiddle as well.
Music Festival is held the week of April 19 to 24 is the strings portion of the festival. The festival will run the week following as well. Note that unless there are major scheduling conflicts lessons will continue this week as usual.
See Festival homepage
2. Fiddle Contest: (When hosted)
FVS students are encouraged to participate in the a local Fiddle Contest. All students will spend the final trimester of lessons each spring polishing up their waltzes, jigs and reels. FVS students clean house every year! 2005 Results · 2006 Results · 2007 Results

6. Gigs:
We receive frequent calls from local groups and charities seeking student players to entertain. Rhiannon acts as "artist manager" for her students who wish to perform and need gigs. Please indicate your interest to Rhiannon in performing as volunteer or for hire.
Workshops
In past years Rhiannon organized the "Strings Alive" violin and fiddle workshops and fiddle contest for her students and other players. The event was taken over by the Shuswap Violin Society while it was active. There are currently no plans to continue the series.
