Rhiannon Nachbaur won the "People's Choice Award" in the Business Excellence Award for her work with Fiddleheads Violin Studio.
Jennifer Moore of the Downtown Improvement Association said, "The People's Choice award is presented to one of the nominees, as selected by the Adjudication Committee, on the basis of receiving among the highest number of nominations in various categories as well as outstanding reasons for nomination."
The award was the finale to the evening and the nominees had not been announced until the presentation. The award is particularly significant to Rhiannon as it is firm indication her community and customers strongly support and believe in the work she does with her school.
Rhiannon has taken home several business awards in the past five years, including an Excellence Award in 2004 for "Best Young Entrepreneur." This year she was also nominated for:
Customer Service (Individual)
Amazingly, this is also Rhiannon's second award received in less than four weeks. In September she won the distinction of "Classical Artist of the Year" at the 2006 Okanagan Music Awards in Vernon, BC.
Rhiannon thanks her customers, concert supporters, readership and colleagues for believing in her and her work.
The Business Excellence Awards were held Saturday, October 21, 2006 as the finale to Business Week. The Gala event was hosted by the Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Improvement Association and Community Futures Development Corporation.
